About Silver

Sterling silver gets its name from a 15th-century Portuguese law that stipulated silver should have at least 80% purity to prevent excessive mixing of other metals in the alloy, thus reducing its value.

Sterling silver in Brazil can be 925 or 950. Acquiring sterling silver means you are buying a real jewel, with quality and durability.

Oxidation

It is a natural process for silver to oxidize and darken over time. Oxidation is simply an outer layer of dark color that does not damage or impair the quality of the jewelry. This happens due to contact with atmospheric pollution, sweat (uric acid), humidity, chemicals (creams, perfumes, cleaning products), among other factors.

Avoid dropping the piece, as this can dent or break the stones;

Avoid contact with chemicals, perfumes, and cosmetics.

Avoid showering, swimming in the sea or pool while wearing the jewelry.

Clean the piece after use whenever possible.

Protect your jewelry from moisture; store them individually in small bags and away from light.

Jewelry Cleaning

Sodium Bicarbonate

How to Use: In a container, place a piece of aluminum foil at the bottom (or you can use an aluminum container), add hot water, add sodium bicarbonate, and place your jewelry in it. Let it soak for about 10 minutes, rinse with water, and dry well.

*We recommend then brushing it with white toothpaste, using a soft-bristled brush and making delicate movements. Rinse with water and dry well.

Polishing Cloth (we always send one with every purchase from us)

The cloth is made with a special fabric that, when rubbed against silver pieces, acts as if a small polishing is being done.

How to use: Gently rub the flannel cloth over the piece with firm movements. (You can also use it after the steps above).

Do not wash the flannel cloth, as this will remove the cleaning agents it contains.

Important: Liquid silver cleaner (Monzi) should not be used on pieces with an antique finish or on pieces with milky stones, such as mother-of-pearl, onyx, turquoise, among others.

With proper care, it is possible to restore the jewelry to its normal appearance.
